Prospective Future:

¡@To better serve the society in this new century, College of Agriculture is currently undergoing major restructuring efforts in curricula, research programs and research facilities. As a college that includes life sciences, natural sciences, social and humanity sciences, the goal of restructuring is to better integrate available resources. The restructuring will be accomplished through the establishments of new education directions, new research programs and new facilities.

 

New Education Directions:

New Agricultural Curricula:
¡@Besides updating each Department¡¦s education directions, to integrate available teaching resources and to provide students with better education, the College encourages Departments within the college to develop new curricula that across the boundaries of Departments. Currently, new curricula that are in the process of developing include ¡§Plant Resources and Applications¡¨ , ¡§Animal Resources and Applications¡¨ , ¡§Microorganisms Resources and Applications¡¨ , ¡§Plant and Animal Pathology¡¨ , ¡§Ecology and Environmental Sciences¡¨ , ¡§Food Science¡¨ , ¡§Bioresources Management¡¨ and ¡§Community Development and Planning¡¨.

 

New Interdisciplinary Programs:

¡@To provide students with opportunities to have an interdisciplinary background so as to be more employable, the College currently has established or is the process of establishing interdisciplinary programs in ¡§Sustainable Management¡¨, ¡§Agricultural Automation¡¨, ¡§Agricultural Biotechnology¡¨, ¡§Leisure Agruculture Management¡¨, and ¡§Fool Technology¡¨.

 

New Research Programs:

¡@To promote interdisciplinary research and to integrate research resources, the College not only encourages but also actively participates in developing new research programs and research centers. Currently, proposed by the College, the University has approved the establishment of two campus-wide new research centers, Biodiversity Research and Animal Experiment center. Other new research centers like Agriculture Technology Information Center, International Agriculture Development, Research and Training Center, Agricultural Community Planning and DevelopmentResearchCenter are also in planning phase.

 

New Facilities:

¡@To meet the future teaching and research needs, the College is currently actively involved in establishing a new campus to be located in Yulin County of Central Taiwan. The new campus will focus on the development of new agricultural technology and biotechnology, biodiversity research, animal science research, and extension service to the central Taiwan agricultural communities, etc. The College is also in the planning phase for a new Agricultural Technology Building to be located a Taipei main campus.

 

¡@It is the hope of our entire College that the new College of Bio-Resources and Agriculture will energe as one of the leading institutions in educating our young generations, in conduction top research, and in providing the needs of society not only on this island, but also around the world.
