FACILITIES

The main building of this Department for teaching and research include one two-story Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering Budiling (Budiling No.5) which has a total area of 1,700 square meters, providing space for offices, classrooms, computer room and research rooms. There is also a one-story building which includes a workshop, a water quality laboratory, an irrigation and drainage laboratory and a soil mechanics and erosion laboratory with a total area 600 square meters. The Agricultural Engineering Pubilic Service Program is run through the cooperation with Agricultural Engineering Research Center, Hydrotech Research Institute (NTU) and Hsueh-Chia extension station.

@(1) Undergraduate Program

The normal period of undergraduate study is four years and the minimum credit hours required for graduation is 141. Graduates are accorded the Bachelor of Engineering degree.

@(2) Master's Program

The duration of master program at the Institute is from two to four years with a requirement of 30 credit hours (including six hours for the thesis) for graduation. After completing the requirements, the graduates are accorded the Master of Engineering degree.

@(3) Doctoral Program

The doctoral program requires a minimum of 36 credit hours including 12 hours for Ph.D. dissertation. Doctoral candidates must complete all degree requirements within seven years.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Various lectures and symposiums are held each year in this department. Domestic and foreign scholars and specialists are invited on an irregular basis.
