1. The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at National Taiwan University invites applicants for an assistant professor or higher positions for teaching and research in the field of pomology. 2. The applicant must have a doctoral degree or equivalent in horticulture or related fields. Documents required for application include:

The Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology at the National Taiwan University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, or PROFESSOR level, beginning from February 1, 2025.
We are interested in candidates who have a Ph.D. or equivalent with postdoctoral research experience pursuing innovative approaches to fundamental problems in Plant Nematodes and Nematode Biology.
Upon hiring, the successful candidate is expected to develop and lead an individual research program and to share our commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses and supervising graduate and undergraduate research. We are particularly interested in candidates who will help promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Department.

A full-time faculty position in Microbiology specialized in Multiomics at the Department of Agricultural Chemistry, National Taiwan University

The Department of Agricultural Chemistry at National Taiwan University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position of assistant professor or higher level to conduct teaching and research activities in the field of microbiology. The starting date for this position is August 1, 2024.

I. Qualifications:
 Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology or related field from a domestically or internationally recognized university and have post-doctoral research experience.
 Applicants should have exceptional publication records in the field of microbiology specialized in multiomics (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, metagenomics, and culturomics) with a focus on agricultural chemistry-related areas.
 Candidates must possess a background in agriculture and agricultural chemistry.

II. Documents required for application include:
1. A cover letter indicating the intended position (i.e. Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor) and relevant information of three recommenders.
2. Curriculum vitae (with a photo).

The election of the 20th dean of the College of Bioresources and Agriculture, National Taiwan University, started after the report of the 272nd academic meeting on October 3, 2022.

The full-time professor committee and alumni committee were formed on December 1, 2022, and the school chancellor appointed three school committee members on January 17, 2023. A total of 17 members formed the dean selection committee.

The election work involved three election committee meetings and a "candidate service concept" explanation meeting. A total of two dean candidates participated in the preliminary review and final review. On April 24, 2023, the third election committee meeting was attended by all members, and the dean was elected. The final report was sent to the school chancellor for selection.

On April 28, 2023, the principal hired Professor Lin Yubin from the Department of Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering as the 20th dean of the School of Bioresources and Agriculture.

The Department of Agricultural Chemistry invites applicants for one faculty position at all ranks, estimated to start on August 1, 2023. The candidates should have a solid foundation in plant nutrition and phytochemistry; research experiences in organic fertilizer, chemical fertilizer, microbial fertilizer or plant metabolomics are favored. Teaching responsibilities will include two required courses “Plant Nutrition” and “Plant Nutrition Lab” at the undergraduate level and elective courses related to plant nutrition at the graduate level.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in a field closely related to “Plant Nutrition and Chemistry” and a strong commitment to excellent teaching and research.

NTU Insect Museum receives 35 boxes of insect specimens

Mrs. Hsiao Niu-Ling donated 35 boxes of insect specimens collected by her late husband, Mr. 津田昌大, to the NTU Insect Museum. Professor Tsai Chi-Wei, curator of the museum, accompanied by retired professor Lo Shiao-Fung of the Department of Botany, went to Mrs. Hsiao’s residence in Tian-Mu to collect the specimens on January 25, 2022. A ceremony was later held at the NTU Insect Museum during which professor Lo and two younger sisters of Mrs. Hsiao officially donated the specimens to the Museum. Professor Hsiao Shu-Feng, Chair of the Department of Entomology at NTU, presented the certificate of appreciation to Mrs. Hsiao’s family. Mr. 津田 worked for a Japanese pharmaceutical company and was stationed in Taiwan. Due to his interest in butterflies, he collected butterflies around Taiwan island and made them into specimens. We greatly appreciate Mrs. Hsiao’s generosity in sharing these precious collections with us and making NTU Insect Museum their permanent residence.
